I found this: Scribd http://discoverymail.com/a/hBF-lEgAJcM3mBBJMt1A$odB1OH/ks301...a very useful Web 2.0 online application which allows you to upload a file in common formats (i.e. PPT, DOC, TXT, XLS, etc.) and an Adobe Flash Paper version is created in a player. You can easily embed the player and the content on your own Web page or blog, you can have the item viewed and even read-aloud right from Scribd's site, or you can download the uploaded file in PDF, TXT, and even the read-aloud file in MP3 format for putting on an audio device.
What do people think about using this site?

Andrew, I have just looked at Scribd and the first thing I found was this http://www.scribd.com/doc/3273/100-Web-20-Ideas-for-Educators - 100 Web 2.0 ideas for educators - now I only need to find the time to read it!
Not sure of the value of the site but it may be a good source of LOs or a place to store them.

Thanks Andrew for sharing this site. This looks to me like a content aggregation site, similar in concept to youtube but in doc form. It will help if the site developer give the function to categorize the various genres of doc using xml tagging.
In response to Joanne's suggestion of using it for LOs source, my reservations is that it lacks the organizational structure of a LO repository. For such purpose, http://www.curriki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Main/WebHome may be a better bet for online community of practice and sharing of resources. It's built on a wiki engine.
Thanks for the suggestion Liang soon - will add the wiki to my del.icio.us and hope to find the time to investigate it fully.
